A breakfast fit for the holidays in St Davids
With Warpool Court Hotel as your holiday base, you have not only the centre of St Davids to explore but nearby beaches, the Preseli hills and the rest of Pembrokeshire to explore. To make the best of your day, you need to start with breakfast . They say it's the most important meal of the day, and we certainly take breakfast seriously!
A hearty breakfast not only provides you with plenty of energy to kick-start your day, but provides a good source of nutrients, such as calcium, iron, protein and fibre. If you miss breakfast, you are less likely to get all of the nutrients you need later in the day, too. Enjoy our breakfast menu to set yourself up and be ready to explore St Davids and the best of what the area has to offer.
A Warpool Court Breakfast
Our breakfasts are made from the best quality ingredients which have been locally sourced from Pembrokeshire producers or farm shops. Our muesli is home made and our croissants are freshly baked and delicious with homemade preserves from Wendy Brandon Handmade Preserves in Boncath, North Pembrokeshire. We love serving up bacon, sausages and black pudding from the Preseli Gold Sausage Company in Fishguard and fresh eggs from Briscwm Farm, just outside Cardigan.
After our breakfast why not have a lazy day mooching around the local shops and art galleries. There is a thriving artist community in and around St Davids, so take some time out and explore the sculptures, illustrations, glass-work and pottery. St Davids is also well-known for its Cathedral built in the 12th century from stone quarried at nearby Caer Bwdy during the Norman period and it’s well worth a visit.
Another great place to visit in St Davids is the Oriel y Parc Gallery, it includes a visitor centre, art gallery and lovely craft outlets - great for gifts, a discovery room and a tower which hosts local art exhibitions. It’s worth checking with them in advance, sometimes they have kids craft activities too.
A little further afield but still perfect for a relaxing morning, perhaps head to the little harbour village of Solva. Nestled in the picturesque Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, just a few miles from St Davids, Solva has a lot going on. There’s a bustling quay and a charming high street, with craft shops and galleries to check out. Just one mile up the coast is the Solva Woollen Mill, well known for its range of floor rugs and stair runners. The Mill shop stocks a range of other woollen goods and locally made products.
If you need a bit more adventure, after our delicious breakfast, why not head off for an amazing Boat Trip. Explore around the wild offshore islands of Ramsey, Grassholm, Skomer and Skokholm. Look out for the puffins, gannets, porpoises, dolphins and even whales. Local companies off everything from a 15-minute island hop to a more a leisurely cruise.
You can visit one of the many beaches near by - Caerfai or Whitesands perhaps. Each is slightly different, but with lots to keep you entertained: fishing, rock pooling, diving, snorkelling, kayaking, coastal path walks, climbing, crabbing, boat trips, surfing, bird watching and the list goes on...
