Meet Our Local Microbreweries - Craft Beer at its Best!
After a hard day’s sightseeing there’s nothing quite like unwinding on Warpool Court Hotel’s spectacular terrace with a nice cold beer. Whether you like your beer nutty and hoppy with a hint of chocolate or a refreshing pale ale is more your sort of tipple, we’ve got something for everyone brewing here in Pembrokeshire. In recent years, the county has seen a rise in the number of top-quality beers being produced in ‘microbreweries’. As the name suggests, microbreweries are not your average, mass-market beer producers - the emphasis here is not on quantity but quality. At Warpool Court hotel we like to source the very best in local produce and that’s why we’re working with two of the finest microbreweries in Pembrokeshire. Making the most of the pure, natural spring water of the nearby Preseli hills, these family-run breweries lovingly craft some of the best beer in Wales.
Bluestone Brewing Company
Named after the famous North Pembrokeshire stone, Bluestone Brewing create their range of flavour-packed Rock Solid Ales on their farm in the beautiful Preseli foothills. Respectful of the unspoilt natural environment that surrounds them, Bluestone Brewing make their beer-making process as environmentally friendly as possible – as well as generating their own solar power, they also ensure that left over waste is turned into a tasty dinner for the farm animals. Begun as part of a diversity initiative, the brewery has gone from strength to strength and has built up a reputation for producing fantastic ales. Boasting an eclectic range, from Pils lager through to dark, rich porter you’re sure to find something to suit your tastes. Most varieties are available all year round but there are windows of opportunity to grab such delights as ‘Summer Rocks Pale Ale’ or ‘Rockin Robin X’mas Bitter’ if you fancy a seasonal treat. From the bright, bold graphics of their quirky labels to the punchy flavours of their beer, Bluestone brews are not to be missed. If you want to learn more and try a sip or two, you can pop in for their Microbrewery Experience or even sign up for a Bluestone Brew Day, where you can get involved in the brewing process!
Gwaun Valley Brewery
On the edge of the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is the Gwaun Valley Brewery, named after the picturesque valley that curves through the landscape. From humble homebrew beginnings, this brewery has grown into a highly-regarded producer of some of the best ales around. Using the finest ingredients and recipes perfected over many years, these beers have a delightfully complex depth of flavour. Whether you prefer a light beer with a hint of citrus, a smooth, malty ale or a full-bodied bitter there are plenty to choose from. With their locally-named varieties such as ‘St David’s Special’ and ‘Valley Brew’ and their subtle watercolour labels of local countryside scenes, Gwaun Valley Brewery really give you a taste of Pembrokeshire.
