Wet or Dry Activities: Warpool Court Hotel’s Peter Trier Offers Options for Families

"It wouldn’t be a holiday in Pembrokeshire without getting wet and trying some watersports, but how about something a little different from the usual beach activities?" asks Warpool Court Hotel proprietor Peter Trier.

Less than an hour away from Warpool Court Hotel you’ll find Pembrokeshire Wake Park, Wales’ first outdoor aqua park.

It’s a brilliant place for beginners to learn how to wakeboard – or more advanced wakeboarders to try their skills on custom made ramps and rails. You can also enjoy a fun-filled day slipping and sliding as a family on the inflatables’ course. From a short Taster Session, which provides a short session with a one-on-one coach, to a Beginner’s “Rookie” session, there’s something for everyone. If you’re feeling bold, the Day Pass may be the right fit. Whatever you decide, fully qualified coaches are on hand to help you safely enjoy a wild adventure on the water.

In addition to the wakeboarding and the aqua park activities, you can take an adrenalin-filled Ringo Ride or try a spot of Stand-Up Paddle Board Yoga – if you can balance! You’ll find an on-site café clubhouse where you can watch the fun and there’s a varied menu featuring locally sourced food and drinks.

If you’re holidaying with younger children and want to stay dry, you might want something a bit less adventurous. Between Easter and September you can enjoy a day out with the little ones at Clerkenhill Adventure Farm and Frizbee Golf Course. The kids will find plenty of things to see and do here. Firm favourites with younger visitors are the very friendly farm animals, which include cows, donkey, goats, pigs, chickens and Shetland ponies.

There’s lots of space for the kids to run off a bit of steam and you can walk around the two adventure trails. The Little Giant Walk offers a short stroll with ‘giants’ along the path, and the mile longer Adventure Trail features statuesque ‘bears’ and ‘spooks’. Clerkenhill’s large Adventure Castle has lots of places to hide and slide, and the Adventure Park has it’s own beach, perfect for building your own sandcastle.

On days when the weather isn’t good, there’s some indoor fun to be had too with a bouncy castle and two-peddle tractor tracks. You can also enjoy a bite to eat at the Old Loft Café, where they use fresh local produce when possible.

Whatever you choose to do with your day, Warpool Court Hotel is the perfect place to begin and end. Get in touch to book your stay in one of our luxury rooms or our private, self-catering Garden Cottage at Warpool Court Hotel. We look forward to welcoming you.
